Daijiworld Media Network - Kaup (MS)

Kaup, Apr 5: The government has ordered to keep people who arrive from foreign countries to India compulsorily in home quarantine in order to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic. However, the home quarantine rules were violated by a man who arrived from Dubai recently.

The accused, a 35-year-old resident of Moodabettu, Manipura has been booked in this connection by the police. He later tested positive for coronavirus.

The man had arrived from Dubai on March 17 and gone to his home in Manipura. He had been asked by health authorities to remain home and follow home quarantine rules. However, violating the quarantine, he allegedly played cricket with nearly 30 people near his house and even visited a bar with friends.

On March 18, the accused went to a local shop and was there for 10 minutes, coming in contact with six people in the process. He then went to Syndicate Bank ATM at Dendurukatte. He again visited a grocery shop, played cricket in the evening and went to Manoj Bar with three people and spent nearly one-and-a-half hours there.

From March 20 to 24, the accused went to Korangrapadi veterinary hospital along with his friend, in order to get his pet dog treated. He then bought medicines from Radha Medicals in the city. He even had party with seven of his friends at the ground near his house for around two and a half hours.

On March 26, the accused developed symptoms of coronavirus and was admitted to the hospital. On March 29, his report confirmed that he had contracted the infection.

As the accused has violated the home quarantine rules from the time he arrived from Dubai and got admitted to the hospital, a case under IPC sections 269 and 271 has been registered against him in Kaup police station based on a complaint filed by Dr Sudhir Sooda, district health and family welfare officer.

This Covid19 curse has been inflicted on our soil deliberately or otherwise.... Yes we have been reasonably able to control this horrible pandemic, despite our huge population.... we almost succeeded last week, but for the ghastly episodes in Delhi, which led to an explosive increase all over our nation !!!!!

Confiscate his passport and keep him bogged down with legal process for 6 months.

Once his UAE visa gets cancelled, he can keep playing cricket and keep going to the bar as much he wants after that.
