Bantwal, Apr 4: Lockdown was observed in Sajipanadu village here after a coronavirus positive report was received about a child. Sajipanadu gram panchayat task force committee decided to continue the lockdown until directed otherwise by the district administration. The decision was taken in the task force committee meeting chaired by gram panchayat president Mohammed Nasir on Tuesday morning.

President Nasir congratulated the meeting taluk administration, police department, health department and Asha workers for their initiative and efforts during the lockdown. Panchayat members, police department, taluk health officer and task force committee members were present.

“The district hospital examined the throat fluids of the family members and those at home of the child whose coronavirus report had come out positive. The district administration should make the result of the tests public to set aside the anxiety of Sajipanadu village residents,” requested Nasir to the officials in the meeting.

Sixteen Bijapur based labourers are stranded at Kanchinadka, Sajipanadu village unable to return to their hometowns. It was decided to request tahsildar to arrange food for them through B C Road’s temple. “As the lockdown is declared on directions from Sajipanadu village administration, they should be provided ration soon. Similarly the rice of Akshara Dasoha to school children should be sent to their houses. A letter should be written to block education officer Jnanesh in this connection,” were the other decisions.
