Mangaluru: St Agnes College organizes international conference on green entrepreneurs

Mangaluru, Feb 29: An international conference on 'Green Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development' was on February 28 organized by the department of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Development Forum (EDF) in association with JCI Lalbagh A1 Logics in the city.

The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer song followed by lighting the digital lamp. JCI PPP Kaveen Kumar, executive vice-president, Area C, JCI India was the chief guest while JFP Kathikeya Madhyastha zone president, Zone XV, JCI, India was the guest of honour, Dr T Thirumaleswari, Asst Prof Dept of Management Studies, SCSVMV, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu was the keynote speaker and Sr Dr M Jeswina AC, principal, St Agnes College Mangaluru presided over the inaugural ceremony.



Sabina Joan Dsouza, head, department of Business Administration and convenor of the conference welcomed the gathering and introduced the dignitaries to the gathering.

The chief guest JCI PPP Kaveen Kumar addressed the gathering on the challenges of sustainable development of green entrepreneurs.

JFP Kathikeya Madhyastha in his address congratulated the organizers for conducting a conference on green initiative.

Sr Dr M Jeswina AC in her presidential remarks enlightened the audience on the objective of the conference and encouraged them to preserve nature.

Jeeth Milan Roche, an environmentalist was felicitated for his contribution to nature.

Jayanand, A1 Logics, Mangaluru proposed the vote of thanks.

There were 150 participants from India and abroad for the conference.

The resource person for the first technical session was Tara Alexendra Celli, founder of Wander Free Traders Private Limited, Sacramento California, USA who addressed Greening the Future systems, Habits and Attitudes while Megan D’Souza, Communications Head, anti-pollution drive, Mangaluru spoke on 'Sustainable Development of Green Entrepreneurs – Issues & Challenges'.

Dr Balasubrahmani, Professor, department of ISE and in-charge of Nitte Startup Ecospace, NMAMIT enlightened the delegates on Digital Entrepreneurship.

The highlight of the conference was the panel discussion. The panelists were Sathish B K, Legal Consultant, Geethanand Pai, Tax Consultant, Gaurav Hedge, former president KISA, Socrates, Deputy Director, MSME Development Institute, Mangaluru, Dr Devi Prabha Alva, Associate Professor, department of Commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru and Pradeep K, Deputy General Manager and Branch Head, IDBI bank. The panel discussion was moderated by JC Praveen Udupa, founder and Technical Director A1 Logics.

There was an overwhelming response for the Concept Selling Competition and the winners were awarded with a cash prize for their innovation and creative idea presentation.

The first prize was backed by Ragavendra, faculty, Rama Krishna College, Mangaluru while Dr Preethi Keerthi, faculty, department of Commerce, Mangalore University, Konaje won the second place.

JC Soujanya Hegde was the chief guest for the valedictory. Dr Neethu Suraj, co-convenor of the conference proposed the vote of thanks.
