Mangaluru: Skilled skaters display euphoria at Presidency School inter-school skating competition

Mangaluru, Feb 25: ‘Roller skating is not only a sport but also a skilled art form. Skills may take you to the top, but it takes dedication to stay there.’

The Presidency School, here, took pride in hosting the inter-school skating competition 2019-20, restoring smiles in the city on February 22. The participant schools with their respective parents and coaches graced the occasion with their inspiring presence.

The school management co-ordinator, Javed Lathief was also present to witness the event and to encourage the 131 participating students from around 20 schools of Mangaluru.

The school teaching staff, Snehal Shet welcomed the guests as well as the participants from various schools. Thereafter, the management co-ordinator, Javed Lathief declared the championship open. The contestants competed with each other in Quad, Inline and Fancy Inline of 500 mt skating rink races respectively, as per their age groups. All the participants were presented participation certificates and the winners were awarded with medals and accolades.



The prize distribution was done by Prathibha Chetan, admin manager of the school and by other dignitaries present. The overall championship winner’s trophy was bagged by Lourdes Central School and Canara CBSE School secured the runners up position.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Geetha, teaching staff of the school who congratulated the winners of the event. The euphoria of the championship and the magnificent display of talent and skills by young and budding skaters was awe-inspiring for everyone present in the event.
