Tulu film ‘Deyi Baidethi’ bags three Karnataka State Film Awards

Mangaluru, Jan 31: Tulu film ‘Deyi Baidethi’ bagged three awards at the recently announced Karnataka State Film Awards 2018.

The film bagged ‘Best Regional Language Film’, ‘Best Director’, and ‘Best Singer’ awards.

‘Deyi Baidethi’ became the first Tulu film to be screened at Mysuru Dasara Film Festival last year. The film has been appreciated by viewers in all places where it was screened. The film has been screened in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Middle East countries.

The film is based on the story of the mother of Koti and Chennaya who fought valiantly on battle ground and died about five hundred ago. It had released on February 15 earlier this year.

The film’s story was written after two years of study and research. B Bhasker Rao composed music and Manikanth Kadri composed the background score. Cinematography is handled by Ravi Suvarna and Harish Poojary.

Seeta Kote, Chetan Rai Mani, Sowjanya Hegde, Amith Rao and others are in the cast.
