Bantwal: Man slips, drowns in well, when taking bath

Bantwal, Jan 22: A person who had approached a well near his house on Tuesday, January 21 afternoon unfortunately slipped and drowned in the well. This incident happened at Pilinja in Vitlamudoor village in the taluk.

The victim of this incident was Somappa Poojary (58), a resident of Pilinja. He had left home to take bath near the well in his farm. He did not return home for a considerable time. The family members, who were worried, went searching for him. They found that an areca nut log placed across the well for protection had snapped. A search was conducted in the well and the body of the person was recovered.

Friends Vittal team brought the body out of the well. Vittal police visited the spot and registered a case.
