Can give Musharraf citizenship, says Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS): Amid the ongoing protests across the country against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday tweeted on granting "fast track" citizenship to former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, who has been sentenced to death in a high treason case.

"We can give Musharraf fast track citizenship since he is from Daryaganj and suffering persecution. All self-acknowledged descendants of Hindus are qualified in a new CAA to come," Swamy tweeted.

On Tuesday, an Islamabad-based special court sentenced the former Pakistani leader to death in the long-drawn high treason case against him.

Since last week, widespread protests were taking place across India over the newly enacted CAA that provides citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who faced religious persecution from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan and arrived before December 31, 2014.

May be all those born in India before Partition should automatically be granted citizenship just as Portugal has given citizenship rights to Goans born during Portuguese rule and their descendants for three generations. As Musharaff was born in India he will qualify.

Pakistan Hindus rejected to come to India...
That means they are happy among majority Muslim population and must have settled in life unlike the minorities in India who are frequently subjected to unwanted controversies and communal hatred speeches and activities downgrading all the norms of a secular country. Why Modi & Shah are not concerned about Hindus who have suffered prosecution in Sri Lanka in various ways.

Shamshuddin - Where did you find their GDP is higher than India? Do you actually know or just saying for the sake of saying or you feel happy anything negative about India? Better check on the Internet or any reliable sources before writing !
I am not justifying CAA but at the same time people talking negative about India for silly reasons is equally condemnable.

Anna, Bangaldesh GDP is 8.1% and India is going further down more than 5.6%. Bangaldesh if pioneering in Garment and IT industries and Indians started working in those industries, this is fact but dont compare pakistan with us they are nothing infront of India leave all this aside why we shaould given citizen ship to the people of theses countries without asking for their records and why we Indian shall stand in ques for prove our nationality that also from year 1951, and we fail we loose citizenship and are homeless and these pakis and banaglis get citizens without proving or showing records.
