Jashpur, Dec 9: A teacher from Jashpur in Chhattisgarh has been accused of demanding undue favour from his students in place of passing them in examinations.

The accused identified as Rajesh Kumar Bhardwaj would even threaten the students if his demands were not met.

As per some of the female students, Bhardwaj would ask them for sexual favours. While others have stated that he has even sought chicken from them.

"He said that I will have to bring chicken for him. He would drop in messages asking why I did not talk to him. If I do not pay heed to him, he would threaten me with severe consequences," one of the girl students said.

A group of girl students of Class XII stated that the teacher reached out to them to satisfy his needs if they were to pass in the history exam.

Meanwhile, the teacher has denied all the accusations and claimed he would entertain the students.

"I have never made illicit demands. Sometimes I just like to entertain the students, that is all," Bhardwaj said.

However, in the light of the accusations, the District Education Officer (DEO) has said he will take strict action against the teacher.
