Goa: Villagers demand probe into accidental death of 7-year-old boy

Poinguinim, Dec 1: On Thursday, 7-year-old boy Lokesh Laxman Velip died after a metal slide fell on him in a school compound at Gulem. The neighbours and other local villagers are now demanding an inquiry into the accidental death of the kid.

The villagers are questioning the negligence and are demanding an answer from the authorities who are responsible for fixing the slide.

The victim has no parents and stayed with his paternal aunt. He was the student of the school where the catastrophe occurred. When Lokesh got trapped under the slide, other kids rang an alarm to get help. Unfortunately, by the time he was transported to the community health centre at Chaudi, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

As per Canacona PI Tukaram Chawan, the incident took place in the evening after school hours.
