Mangaluru: ‘Parisara Jagrathi’ street play performed by students of St Aloysius PU College

Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 29: Street plays are a wonderful platform to connect with people and that is what inspired the students of St Aloysius PU College to perform a street play, to get connected with people.

The students chose two busiest places in the city- Kankanady and State Bank bus stops, which are always filled with the hustle and bustle of life. Amidst the honking of buses, hurried pedestrians and frugal vendors, the gallant students on November 28 conveyed an important message to the people of Mangaluru on the topic ‘Parisara Jagrathi’. They performed scenes that depicted the general attitude of the public toward cleanliness and how plastic can cause damage to the environment.

The students then addressed the public and persuaded them to be responsible for protecting the environment. They also educated them on the alternatives of plastic, segregation of waste, proper disposal of waste and so on. This unique exposure enlightened the students on self-reliance and teamwork. It also helped in grooming the students into socially responsible citizens and when they become adults, they will be able to connect with people easily. The public participated with a lot of curiosity and excitement.
