Mangaluru: Jesvita Quadras appointed member of Vatican International Youth Advisory Body

Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 26: Jesvita Princy Quadras from Mangaluru is appointed as a member of the International Youth Advisory Body for a term of three years by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, Vatican.

Jesvita (21) from Mangaluru has been appointed as one of the members of the International Youth Advisory Body. On the Solemnity of Christ the King on November 24, the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life - Vatican announced about the establishment of an International Youth Advisory Body made up of 20 young people from different regions of the world and some international movements, associations and communities. A special request was made in the final document of the 2018 Synod for the creation of an entity like this to reinforce the work being done by the Youth Office of the Dicastery.

Jesvita is from Mangaluru (former national president of Young Catholic Students/ Young Students Movement YCS/YSM 2016-2019) and presently she is the National Coordinator of the students' movement.

Jesvita did her schooling at St Mary’s School and PUC in St Agnes PU College. She completed her under graduation in Journalism, Psychology and English major at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru.

The appointed members for the next three years are from Guinea, Uganda, South Africa, USA, Canada, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Chile, Indonesia, India, Japan, Slovenia, Netherlands, Lebanon, Australia, Austria, Brazil, France, Italy, and Portugal.

These young people were involved in different phases of the Synod on Youth that took place in 2018. This included the International Youth Forum organized in June this year by the Dicastery to encourage the implementation of the apostolic exhortation ‘Christus vivit’ (Christ is Alive) where Jesvita also took part.

Christus Vivit is a post-synodal apostolic exhortation of Pope Francis, written in response to the 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, on young people, faith and vocational discernment held from 3 to 28 October 2018.

The group will have an important consultative and proposal-making role to play. They will assist the Dicastery with issues related to youth ministry and other topics of more general interest.

The first meeting is scheduled for April 2020 in Rome.

Jesvita is the daughter of couple Vincent Quadras and Sharlet Quadras and sister of Jaison Quadras (studying in 1st PUC). She is from Guardian Angel's parish, Angelore.

Congratulations. Do something serious to uplift our community youth. When I hear some cases of drug addiction I really get disappointed being a devout catholic.

Put in your best efforts. God Bless. My prayers are with you.
