Bengaluru, Nov 19: The state unit of the BJP, on Monday November 18, filed complaints against former minister and Congress MLA Satish Jarkiholi, and JD(S) workers from K R Pet constituency. The complaints were filed with the Election Commission.

One of the complaints was about violation of model code of conduct by Satish Jarkiholi, who it said, had made personal attacks on his elder brother and BJP's Gokak assembly candidate, Ramesh Jarkiholi.

"Satish Jarkiholi, who was a minister in the previous government, stated that Ramesh became a minister by falling at the feet of Laxmi Hebbalkar. Satish had also opposed the move to make Ramesh a minister by terming him as mad," the complaint stated.

The BJP pointed out that personal attacks are considered to be violation of model code of conduct. It asked the election commission to serve notice on Satish and stop him from launching such personal attacks in future.

In the other complaint, the party has demanded action against supporters of JD(S) candidate from K R Pet. It said that supporters of JD (S) candidate there, B L Devaraj, had attacked BJP candidate Narayana Gowda, when he came to file nomination, with slippers. They also tried to attack state minister for law and parliamentary affairs, J C Madhuswamy," it stated.

The BJP has asked for security cover for Narayana Gowda and action against those who assaulted him. It also apprehended about repetition of such incidents during the period till the polling is held.
