Karkala, Oct 18: Decomposed body of a man was found in the verandah of a house near the Jarigekatte bus stand of Mundkur of Belman in the taluk on Thursday, October.
The body is identified as that of Pius D'Souza (59) who was living alone in the dilapidated house of Jarigekatte. His wife and daughter had distanced themselves from him because of his addiction to liquor.
When the locals of the vicinity started getting a foul smell, they started to search for the cause of it and noticed the body of Pius.
Police personnel of Karkala rural police station visited the place and carried out the spot inspection.
