Mangaluru, Oct 17: In an unfortunate incident, two men crossing railway tracks during torrential rains were hit by a running train at Thokkottu on Thursday evening.
Subhash (24) and Manjunath (26) from Haveri Anekallu Hunasi are the victims of the train hit. While Subhash died, Manjunath, who was critically injured, was admitted to local hospital. Both of them were construction labourers.
The incident happened when they were crossing the tracks towards their rented house in Thokkottu. There was heavy downpour together with thunder and lightning in the evening. Both of them were crossing the tracks in a hurry and apparently did not hear the sound of the approaching train that hit them.

Railway police said that only the side of the train hit them as they had crossed the tracks already.
Railway police who visited the spot have registered a case.
