Mandya, Oct 13: A gang of youths assaulted a young man for being in the company of girls of his college who belonged to other community. Moreover, the same gang of youths circulated the video of the assault on social media.

This incident occurred near Nelligere Cross of Nagamangala taluk of the district on October 9 and has come to light late. Prashanth, the youth who is studying in a degree college at Nagamangala, is the one who was assaulted by a group of youths. Prashanth had good rapport with the girls of his college.

On October 9, Prashanth was travelling along with one girl from his community and two girls from other community in a car. Accused Idris and other 19 boys waylaid the car and assaulted Prashanth.

In the video it can be seen that Prashanth is being abused in vulgar language and questioned as to why he is in the company of girls by the gang. Moreover, both Prashanth and a girl are being manhandled by this gang. In addition, the whole assault is captured on the video by the gang. Later, the gang has released this video on social media saying that they have assaulted a youth from another community.

In the video it can be seen that Prashanth and a girl are requesting the gang to leave them as they are just friends. But the gang members did not pay heed to their request and assaulted them.

Once the video went viral, a case in this regard was registered in Nagamangala police station. During inquiry Prashanth and the girls told the police that they were all going by car to help a lover couple of their college.

SP Shobharani is investigating the matter. An FIR stands registered against 20 people, including the main accused Idris.

Horrible. This boys gang hsould be arrested immediately and punished.Second throw them out of college.Their parents should question them what and why they are doing this.Instead of studies and good conduct, loitering about ,and this criminality.where are parents?stop giving them money to roam about.let them work.Because parents have let them go around to do this .elt these boys go in Ashram and see how children are suffering or without education, food.let them work there.

Please arrest twenty boys immediately and dismiss them from the college. It's not case of moral policing but of mob lynching. Taleban activities are on rise now a days.

Moral policing is part of Talibani activities. All organisations involved in moral policing need to be crushed before the country turns into Afghanistan and Pakistan.
