Daijiworld Media Network - Ponda (SHP)

Ponda, Sep 19: On Wednesday, a 46-year-old tempo driver was denied bail by additional district and sessions court to save the victim from a potential threat.

The accused tempo driver, Santan Paulo Pinto, was brought under the charge of attempted murder of his colleague, a labourer, Ruksana Rafiq Mulla (34). Pinto had used a sickle to attack Ruksana on the afternoon of August 24.

In the investigation, it was found that Pinto attacked Ruksana for frivolous reasons for not returning his calls. Pinto was then charged under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 324 (hurting a person grievously).

Currently, Pinto is lodged at Colvale jail in judicial custody.
