New Delhi: More than 200 complaints filed with ED against D K Shivakumar

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (MS)

New Delhi, Sep 18: Former minister and senior Congress leader of Karnataka D K Shivakumar, who is being probed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on money laundering case, has got more to bear. The ED has received more than 200 complaints against Shivakumar alleging him of financial irregularities.

According to a senior ED official, they have received more than 200 financial irregularity complaints and the agency is checking the veracity of the same. Many of the complaints are from the investors in a housing project, who are alleging that they have lost their money because of D K Shivakumar.

ED is conducting inquiry on Shivakumar on the money laundering case filed by the Income tax department alleging tax evasion and hawala transactions that ran into crores of rupees. A Karnataka MLA is also called for inquiry in the same connection. However, the MLA did not appear before the ED for its first summons. A second summons is sent to the concerned MLA, who is said to be close aide of Shivakumar.

Shivakumar was sent to judicial custody by court on Tuesday, September 17 after completing his custody with ED. The ED has said in the court that former minister D K Shivakumar and his aides have more than 317 bank accounts. The agency is said to the court of finding money laundering to the tune of Rs 200 crores. In addition, the agency also has said that it has found Rs 800 crores of benami assets. However, the former minister had denied all the allegations.

According to a senior official of ED these 317 bank accounts are in the name of 46 individuals. Records on these accounts are being monitored in order to know the amount of money that has gone into and come out of the said accounts.

All these 200 complaints filed after DKS was taken into custody by ED which shows that ED is pressuring people to file complaints against DKS so that they can keep him in custody at least till upcoming by-elections in Karnataka. Does an investigative agency do such shabby investigation that at every Court hearing they come up with newer revelations for a case which began with Rs 43 lacs? This is a money laundering case and ED knows very well that they cannot go on seeking extension of Custody. But then they have to listen to their Gujarati Masters too since most of the officers go for a morning walk. They don't want put their life in danger and hence obey the Gujarati Mafia obediently.

Out of the four cases arising from the searches carried out by Income Tax authorities a year ago, Shivakumar had already been discharged in three. The predicate offence under the Income Tax Act was a compoundable offence and was not even a scheduled offence under the PMLA under which case has been filed against DKS. For sure DKS is not very clean man. But what is going on right now is just vendetta so that he does not get time to prepare for the upcoming by-elections in Karnataka because if he's left free outside, Congress will win at least 12-13 seats out of the total 17 and in such scenario BJP's Karnataka govt will be ousted.

Jaimini for your info, Roshan Baig has now become witness in IMA case as against accused when he was in Congress. The Great Governor of Karnataka himself has written letter to provide security to Baig. Don't go by WhatsApp world. Baig is no more accused in IMA case but a witness. It is the same case with Mukul Roy in Sarda Chit Fund case. So DKS stands good chance of coming out clean if he switches party.

I feel it is highly impossible for DKshi to come out from ED's hand..He is nicely, very nicely trapped ...Officials already interrogated his daughter and got vital clue and from that clue they are going to question DKshi close friend , MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar..She accepted that ED sent summons to her...She is standing in danger zone ...Anyway, ED officials are having restless life too...

I completely support Modi for initiating action against the corrupt who have misused their powers to amass wealth. But he should not stop with Shivkumar and Chidambaram. He should pull out all those who have taken shelter under the BJP umbrella. There are many hiding behind him. Initiate action against them as well. Then and only then will I be convinced that he is impartial. Otherwise the belief that he is targeting only the opposition leaders will gain ground.
