Belagavi: Jarkiholi empire now divided - Satish

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Sep 14: "The Jarkiholi empire had been built for the general welfare of the people of the district. Now it has not been serving the purpose for which it was built. Therefore, I had to fight to demolish the 'Jarkiholi bastion' that we built here since the last six months as I had no other option," said former minister Satish Jarkiholi.

Addressing the media persons at Gokak in the district on Friday September 13, he said that he is aware that people of Gokak, which is currently represented by Ramesh Jarkiholi, are apprehensive as Ambi Rao, son-in-law of Ramesh Jarkiholi, is in charge of the constituency now. We are fighting to rid Gokak from his clutches and give it freedom," he claimed.

Satish said that he has been fighting against his brothers, Ramesh and Balachandra Jarkiholi, since long. People of Gokak are not venturing out because of Ramesh's fear. But they will surely come out to vote in the bypoll. Lakhan Jarkiholi will fight Gokak bypoll as a Congress candidate in the bypoll," he stated.

Satish explained that a congregation of people who will soon meet at the Valmiki stadium at Gokak will effectively provide a fitting reply to people who allege that Jarkiholi brothers are enacting a drama. "Since the last two decades, officials of Gokak were obeying Ramesh, not anymore," he added.
