Udupi: One more case filed on blackmail accused Swaroop Shetty

Udupi, Aug 25: One more case was filed by a classmate of Swaroop Shetty, who is in police custody on the accusation of blackmailing people. His friend and classmate Aditya Shetty have filed this case.

In his complaint, Aditya Shetty says, "Swaroop Shetty called me and told that the Wheel To Go franchisee of Deralakatte in Mangaluru are forcing to keep the money as a deposit. He also told that if I do not agree, he will file a defamation suit on me. He threatened me to pay Rs two lac on April 22. Accordingly, I gave Rs 50,000 in cash on that day and Rs 1,50,000 by cheque on the following day. Later he took Rs 30,000 through online saying that his sister is kidnapped."

Later on June 3, Swaroop Shetty called Aditya Shetty to his apartment and made him believe that he has got the support of the police and threatened and extorted Rs 11 lac through cheque from Aditya. Swaroop further took Aditya to Shivamogga on June 19 and asked to pay Rs 10 lac to him saying that Aditya's friend Akarsh is kidnapped. Later he extorted Rs five lac from Aditya and his friend. 

A case is filed in Manipal police station in this regard by Aditya Shetty.
