Mangaluru: NSS unit of Carmel College participates in paddy plantation programme

Mangaluru, Aug 22: Paddy cultivation, the most prevalent method of farming is used to cultivate rice in southern and eastern Asia. The cultivation of rice paddy was organized by the NSS unit of Carmel College to create awareness and significance of cultivation of rice paddy among the students at Pachchinadka.

The paddy programme was inaugurated symbolically by planting paddy in the field by the dignitaries Delphin Lobo, Dr Sr Latha AC principal, NSS programme officer, Madhura and NSS assistant programme officer Deepthi and NSS volunteers were present on the occasion.



The programme was followed by planting paddy in the field by the guests, principal and NSS volunteers.

25 NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme. Students were made aware of the basic stages of cultivation since they were virtually involved in the crop establishment.
