Bengaluru, Jul 19: It is said that in an effort to save the government from imminent collapse, the leaders have realized that appeasement of legislators from the city who had recently resigned together, can save the government from embarrassment in trust vote. There are rumours which say that Ramalinga Reddy has been offered the post of the chief minister, as it is believed that he can convince the rebel MLAs from the city to change their minds. On the basis of this offer, Reddy agreed to withdraw his resignation, sources claim. 

Reportedly, JD(S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda, accepted the proposal to make Ramalinga Reddy the chief minister as he knows that Reddy is known to have cordial relationship with legislators from all parties, and he has the capacity to manage legislators from both the parties. 

However, the four dissident MLAs from the city say that they had joined hands with Ramalinga Reddy in holding discussions and tendering resignations. Noting that Reddy suddenly withdrew his resignation, they clarified that they would not follow suit. In a video MLA S T Somashekhar has confirmed that himself, Byrathi Basavaraj, Muniratna and Ramalinga Reddy had discussed the issue threadbare and agreed that resignations should never be withdrawn. 

They said they would not withdraw their resignations although Reddy did so under pressure from party leaders.
