Beltangady, Jul 9: In a shocking incident, a young woman was pushed into a lake by a man and left to sink, when she resisted a rape attempt in Alandangadi in Venur station limits on Tuesday, July 9.
The woman, who managed to escape the watery grave, approached Beltangady circle inspector’s office and filed a complaint against the man who is said to be a BJP worker.
The woman has alleged that the BJP worker tried to rape her. When she resisted him, he tried killing her by pushing her into the lake.
The police are investigating the incident.
