Bengaluru, Jun 25: Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, expressed the opinion that the charges levelled by the leader of the opposition in the assembly, B S Yeddyurappa, against him in a press meet are not healthy. He felt that Yeddyurappa's initiative to raise personal issues that have no connection with governance depict his ulterior motive.

Kumaraswamy stated that he would take the issues seriously and act on them if creative criticisms are passed on administrative issues. "I request Yeddyurappa not to harm the nobility of the position of the leader of the opposition he has been occupying now, by repeatedly speaking about personal issues concerning me which have no connection with the government's functioning," he stated.

On the issue of farm loan waiver scheme, Kumaraswamy said that this scheme has been implemented in a transparent manner and the scheme has been extended to all eligible farmers conforming to the guidelines issued by the government. "During the last one year, farmer suicides has dropped by 30 percent. Our desire it to bring these suicides to zero percent," he explained. He also said that the banks have been told in no uncertain terms that the farmers whose loans have been waived have to be granted loans again. "The loan waiver scheme is like an open book. Yeddyurappa can obtain all related information from the website," he noted.

The chief minister said that the government has not closed its eyes relating to IMA ponzi scam and that the special investigation team (SIT) has been conducting probe. He asked Yeddyurappa to furnish to the SIT documents if any he is in possession of, about the involvement of ministers, legislators and others in this scam.

"We have taken up with determination the issue of development of government schools. We are improving basic infrastructure at an expenditure of Rs 1,200 crore. For the first time, we have introduced English medium education, and have set up Karnataka Public Schools etc," he said.

Kumaraswamy said that everyone knows who had accepted kickback from Jindals. He added that the cabinet sub-committee formed for the purpose will take a final decision on allotment of land to Jindal company at Ballari.
