Kalaburagi:  Whopping Rs 1 crore spent for one-night village stay of CM Kumaraswamy

Daijiworld Media Network - Kalaburagi (MS)

Kalaburagi, Jun 23: H D Kumaraswamy, chief minister (CM) of the state, showed simplicity by opting to sleep on a mat instead of a mattress in the government school of the village in the district. But one will be astonished to know that even that simplicity has come at a huge cost.

The CM has spent Rs 1 crore for his village stay of 24 hours at the Chandaraki village. Out of this amount, Rs 25 lac was spent for food for the people who had arrived at the Chandaraki village. Another Rs 25 lac was spent for shifting the office of the CM and also for setting up counters for receiving applications from the public.

Lunch was prepared for around 25,000 people. Dinner was served for nearly 500 people, which consisted of students, teachers, officials and local politicians. The expense of Rs 25 lac included the morning breakfast also.

The rest Rs 50 lac was spent for the stage setting and the Janata Darshan programme of the CM. Around 4000 people took part in the Janata Darshan programme and 1800 online applications were also received. During the Janata Darshan programme, a huge contingent of MLAs and officers had arrived at the spot.

Chandaraki Village of Kalburgi got some momentum, opportunity for the people of Kalburgi to interact with CM, thousands got lunch, dinner and breakfast. Certainly business for local catering, transport. Also infrastructure around got some enlistment. We too wish CM / PM visit our village so that we get better roads. There are so many people complaining here......they fail to see the expenditure made by PM or other states CMs! I appreciate CMs visit to the village and district.

The total cost of the picnic trip to Bangaram Islands in Lakshadweep by INS Virat and the private exclusive highway built from 1 Safdarjung Road, New Delhi (the then Prime Minister's residence up to 1984) to Doon School was Rs 2,750 crores THEN.
    Now assess the cost-benefit economics.

Yes CM's visit to rural place does not make big differences for the people who have been marginalized deprived of from basic civic amenities. Spending one crore for one night stay of CM. Ofcourse it will be always there . Along with CM big contingent officials and security forces will come so it turns upto that amount . Even our PM with humble background arranges special type for his travel . Infact the CMs daily expenses for maintenance of his official residence will be a huge sum . The Prime Minister will be still higher . These media never bothered to question extravagance of all these polticians governers Chief ministers so far now they are all targeting Kumarswamy seems to be biased .

Well If a sitting Chief minister plans a program like this, it can't be noiseless and penniless. It would be huge contingent of officials and coordinators along with media.
Problem here is nobody believes in Kumaraswamy whether he could make a difference or not. He achieves nothing other than good will of locals for the next election.

If that was goodwill for next election why his party stuck below 40 ever since he started "gram vastavya" from 2006?

India just lost ' Fastest Growing Economy ' tag under BJP govt. FYI, dollar depreciation during your mentioned period was part of economic reforms but it picked up considerably during later part of 2010. But now with BJP rule and with incompetent administration Indian economy will rest in pieces.
