Bengaluru, Jun 23: According to the information available from the office of the chief minister (CM), the newly inducted ministers in the state cabinet R Shankar and H Nagesh are going to get their portfolios allotted on Monday, June 24.

The source at the CM office said that as the Governor is out of town, the portfolio distribution will happen on Monday. The Governor will put his final stamp on the list of the portfolios of minister that was allotted after the recent expansion.

R Shankar is most likely to get the municipality administration portfolio that is vacant due to the death of Kundagol MLA C S Shivalli. It is also said that the education department that is lying vacant since a long time without the minister will be allotted to H Nagesh.

Both the MLAs had taken the oath as ministers, in the midst of several chaos among the JD (S) and Congress MLAs, on June 14. Several senior leaders of Congress and JD (S) have expressed their anger out in the open after inducting the two independent MLAs in the cabinet. However, it is also heard that this is an intelligent move by the senior leaders of the Congress and JD (S) in the state, which has put brakes on the 'Operation Lotus' dreams of BJP.
