WhatsApp new feature to save you from sending picture to wrong person

Mumbai, Jun 18: The popular chat messenger, WhatsApp, is coming up with a possible new feature. A beta version is being tested which would ensure that a user does not erroneously send a picture to the wrong person.

The feature will have the name of the person beneath the caption and this will help the sender to be aware of whom the picture is being sent.

The feature will be available to those WhatsApp users who have the version 2.19.173 or later installed. These versions will help to test the feature.

The present version has a small profile picture of the recipient on the top left corner. The beta version is aimed at including a contact name of the recipient as well. This feature is said to reduce the instances of sharing an image with the wrong contact.

This feature is in beta and for Android users only. It is unclear whether it would be available for iOS users. Once the beta version is stabilized, there would be a roll out of the same for Android users. Although, the messaging app has a beta exclusive for Android ready, it will be a matter of time that iOS users will be eventually getting the feature as well.
