BJP-controlled IMC recites Vande Mantaram during National Anthem

Indore, Jun 13: Patriotism reached a whole new level at BJP-controlled Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Wednesday, when the members mixed up ‘Jana gana mana’ recital with ‘Vande Mantaram.’ The video documenting this mix-up has gone viral. The Mayor Malini Gaur, a local BJP MLA was also visible in the video.

The assembly of representatives and others concerned was in light of the civic body’s budget meeting. Eyewitnesses claim that somewhere in the middle of the National Anthem, one of the representatives abruptly sang Vande Mantaram. They sang with such vigour, that they recited it till the end.

This goof up gave the opposition party a reason to lash out. They called out for action against the members for 'insulting' the National Anthem.

In response to this comment, IMC chairman Ajay Singh Naruka said, "The mistake was possibly committed following a corporator's slip of the tongue. I do not feel it was due to anybody's ill intention. So, the incident should not be blown up unnecessarily."

Further, he claimed that technically the tradition they follow is to open the IMC’s budget session with the National song first and then later end it with the National Anthem.

Apparently, the law states that the charge an individual could face for an abrupt disruption of the National Anthem is three years of jail time.

If making Vande Mataram compulsory in School, can educate all Indians, then we must do it mandatory.
If India can change its ranking in Global hunger Index from 103 ( current status) to number 1, then we must all sing Vande Mataram three time a day in School.
If India can change it's ranking of Most dangerous place for woman to safest place for woman, then we must sing Vande Mataram 5 times a day. If all graduates get employment soon after completion of their graduation, then we must sing Vande Mataram 10 times a day.
If Singing Vande Mataram can eradicate poverty and malnutrition, then we must not delay in singing Vande Mataram.
IF SINGING VANDE MATARAM CANNOT SOLVE THE ABOVE ISSUES, THEN WE MUST FOCUS ON CORE ISSUES, NOT SINGING A SONG.

how many of them could actually sing both the anthem and song properly?

This is all gimmick by the saffron party. Most of the MLAs and MPs of BJP are uneducated or less educated in comparison to any other political party in the country.
