London, Jun 7: Konkani Kutam London, headed by Matilda D’Souza and four enthusiastic team members comprising Melwin Rodrigues, Ceaser Fernandes, Santhosh D’Souza and Lloyd D’Sa put up tremendous efforts in organising ‘Konkan Dabazo’, the musical concert hosting renowned stars from the Konkani music world who performed on a single platform in London at Harrow Arts Centre.

The audiences were mesmerized by a nonstop entertainment for 5 hours through most popular Konkani songs, skits and mind blowing compering. There was a roaring response by the audience to the whole event and proved that there is a great future for Konkani in the United Kingdom.

The main sponsors of the show were Aloysius Richard Lobo, managing director and CEO of British Asia and Lobo Seafood & Poultry Ltd, London and Martin J Aranha, managing director and CEO of Seamark Shipping LLC, Dubai.

Pramila Crasta, Arun Crasta, Vincent Pinto, Flora Fernandes, Sunil D’Souza and Robin Rodrigues worked as a team of volunteers before the start of the event who offered their helping hand on the day with the distributions of passes at the entrance.

The show started with a short stage programme led by John Fernandes.

The inauguration of the ceremony was done by chief guest Aloysius Richard Lobo and Christine Lobo by lighting of candles.

The curtains were raised with the theme song ‘Dabazo’ composed and led by Melwyn Peris.

'Sangeeth Samrat' Henry D’Souza mesmerized the audience with his most popular songs ‘Ye Ye Katrina’, ‘Ami Dogi Sezara’, ‘Chondrem Udevn Ailo’, ‘Kalzanth Ullas Borla’ and the audiences were unstoppable who even jumped on to the stage and started dancing to his tunes. 'Yodelling King' Melwyn Peris added a unique flavour to the programme through his wonderful presentation of ‘Jane’, ‘Sobith Xoli’ (Chakka), and ‘Soro Khaiso’.

Great songs like ‘Tujo Mog Maka Zala’, ‘Kenna Kenna’, ‘Mariola’, ‘Udi Udi’, ‘Kalza Thar’, ‘Anjelina’ etc swayed the audiences into a magical music world. ‘Konkan Kalakaran’ song composed by Melwyn Peris was presented by all artistes at the end. Jolly Boys Band from UK was the main reason to keep the audience busy with their foot tapping music. The entertaining music band group was appreciated by everyone for the amazing music that was provided for the famous Konkani songs.

Ace anchor Dony Correa who was invited all the way from Dubai, energized the whole spectators by his witty humour, awesome stage presentation and excellent command over Konkani. He kept the audience engaged with his unique style and commanding voice and proved, why he was the most sought-after compere these days.
