Konkan Yuva Dubai holds informative session for job seekers

Dubai, Jun 5: Konkan Yuva (Mangalurean Youth Community) Dubai held Informative session for the job seekers on June 1 at St Mary's Catholic Church Mini Hall, Oud Mehta Road in the city.

Fr Denis Saldanha OFM Cap, spiritual director, Konkan Yuva presided and inaugurated the session with prayer by invoking almighty blessings along with the two expert keynote speakers of the session, Avil Pinto, HR and supply chain professional, Frieslan Campina (Rainbow Milk) and a part of ‘Dubai Jobs Hunt’ (Voluntary group), Ruth Mirium Fernandes, head of Talent Management. Santhosh, coordinator, and Vivian Fernandes, president of Konkan Yuva, were also present.

Vinay D’Souza commenced the informative session by welcoming the gathering. Vivian Fernandes, president of Konkan Yuva, welcomed Fr Denis Saldana with a plant as a symbol of growing youth, along with the keynote speakers of the session. Fr Denis Saldanha addressed the gathering with a few words of encouragement to the participants on job seeking and wished good luck in their careers. Vivian Fernandes introduced the keynote speakers to the gathering. Avil Pinto took up the first session followed by second session by Ruth Mirium Fernandes.

The keynote speakers addressed on the following points:

*How to plan your job search strategy?
*How to get yourself noticed by prospective employers in the UAE?
* How to create the first impression?
*How to shine in an interview?

Avil Pinto gave insights on how to build a good resume and presentable attitude. Ruth Mirium Fernandes spoke on interview process, preparations for the interview, how to respond during the interview and what is next after the interview. The keynote speakers were honoured with a memento as a token of gratitude by Vivian Fernandes to Avil Pinto and Smitha Priya Pinto to Ruth Mirium Fernandes. Jeethan D’Cunha, Member of Konkan Yuva rendered the vote of thanks.

As many as 205 participants and volunteers took part in the session. Sweeny Maria D’Souza concluded the session by open round questions. All the participants gave a positive response on the informative session.
