BJP to suffer net loss of seats this polls: Report

Mumbai, May 16 (IANS): A new report has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to suffer a net loss of seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, but will still emerge as the single largest party.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) report expects the BJP to form a coalition government after the election results are out on May 23 with the support of the regional parties and incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi will secure a second term in office.

The EIU expects at least three regional parties -- the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) -- to back the next BJP-led government at the Centre.

"The presence of coalition partners will help prevent the sort of disruptive and poorly considered policy making that was seen on occasion during the BJP's previous term," the report said.

Besides, the coalition partners in the government will prove to be a check on the BJP's right-wing Hindu nationalist instincts.

According to Shreyans Bhaskar, a research analyst with the EIU, "The need to keep coalition allies sweet will pressure the next government into raising public expenditure, which will add to the fiscal strains created by the government's populist election pledges".

"As the BJP seeks to keep relations with its coalition partners smooth, the influence of the BJP's right-wing Hindu affiliates and allies will be diminished in the next administration," the EIU said.

NO MIU CAN ASSESS PULSE OF INDIAN VOTER AS IN THE PAST AND ALWAYS RESULTS WILL BE SURPRISE. NO MEDIA COULD FORECAST 2014 RESULTS AS ACCURATELY EVEN WITH A RANGE OF +/- 5% TO 10%. THAT IS DEMOCRACY.

THE END OF JUMBLA ERA... IF BJP COMES TO POWER, THEN INDIAN ECONOMY WILL COLLAPSE FURTHER TO 11TH. INDIA WAS THIRD RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD PRE 2014. FOR AFFIRMATION SEARCH GOOGLE : "..Was India third richest country in the world during 2012-2013? - the answer is positive). THIS MAN WITH FALSE ASSURANCES (15.00 LAKHS, SWISS BANK MONEY BACK, CLEANSING OF GANGA, BULLET TRAIN, MEGHA CITIES...) DESTROYED THE NATION, EVENTHOUGH, THERE WAS A SPLENDID LUCK DURING HIS REGIME... PRE 2014 INTL. CRUDE OIL PER BARREL WAS 138 US$, THEN PETROL PRICE IN INDIA WAS 89 RUPEES. DURING MODI REGIME FORTUNATELY FOR 'HIM' INTL. CRUDE OIL PRICE CAME DOWN TO US$28. THOUGH NOW IS AROUND 50US$, THIS MAN HAS GIVEN ALL THE BENEFIT TO AMBANIES AND NOT TO THE NATION OR TO THE CITIZENS OF INDIA... WHEN THE ECONOMY IS GOING DOWN FROM 3RD TO 7TH NOW, HOW IT IS POSSIBLE AMBANI BECOMING RICHEST IN ASIA? WHEN THE ECONOMY IS GOING DOWN HOW THE BJP FUNDS WITHIN FORTNIGHT BECOMING RICHEST..? (beating two century old party congress, BJP party is a baby of 30 years - how it is possible)... WHICH IS THE MAGICSTICK MR. MODI HAS USED...????

This EIU, so far as I can see, has always been the BJP mouthpiece (regardless of who owns it).

So, take their analysis with a good pinch of salt.

It is 100% left to EVMs how they behave. People's mandate has nothing to do with final results.
