Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Mar 14: As an alert and precautionary measure to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the city police held a parade of more than 200 habitual and noted rowdies of the city belonging to 17 police stations under the commissionerate limits at the police grounds in the city on Thursday, March 14.

The hooligans were warned by the senior police officers, under the leadership of city police commissioner Sandeep Patil, against any act to disturb the social harmony of the city. They were warned and a case was registered as a step to maintain peace during the elections.

In the midst of the rowdy parade, the police also conducted raids on the houses of notorious rowdies of the city. During these raids they have recovered two swords from the house of a rowdy belonging to the infamous Target group of Ullal member Surma Imran. One Scorpio and two bikes used by Kodikere Manoj and Chethan without documents were also seized.

They have to be regularly paraded and those who can improve needs to be counselled.

Keeping a watch on their movement is crucial.

A good measure of shaming the rowdies by parading them. They are a menace to society.

    Parents, sisters and younger siblings,

Please nicely see those lined up here if any of them is related to you. They are not lined up to take highest state/nation award, but have been listed for their earlier crime record. Lined up as a warning for future occurrence of a crime.

Think of the glory they have brought to your family, state, nation.

In fact, when I look at these young lads, feel sad not because they have given Rowdy tag but because the powerful, vested interested persons have used them for their selfish end. If these youngsters have used their energy in a positive way, by working hard, even semi skilled labour and earned end of the day some money for them and taking care of their families, they would have grown up in life.

Apart from police hospitality inside the police station; also guidance may help them, to start a new life in a positive way for them and to their families. Well done police commissioner Sandeep Patil saab.

Tagging them as rowdies and displaying them on open grounds, makes a step longer for them to lead a normal dignified life.

    Shankar,

They have left behind dignity much before and they were never there for their family in need. At present they don't care for dignity or self respect. Rather, its good that they are shamed so that if at all there is any humanity left in them, it will trigger a turn-around.

Yes, they can be counselled to realize that nothing can undo the past and its alright now because he lived his life as it came. He should be hypnotized to be numb to taunts about his past and should be directed towards a future, that is only good he will do, nothing bad.

I have seen people who were members of such gangs for a small period, were diverted, and are now laughing at those days, themselves talking about them. Are grateful for the present life that they are living.
