Panaji: Most excise services now available online


Panaji, Mar 6 (TOI): Several of excise department’s services are now available via e-governance mode. The new services were thrown open by chief secretary Parimal Rai at the secretariat on Tuesday.

Excise commissioner Amit Satija said the new module of online application and processing of request will reduce the clearing time significantly and also bring transparency and accountability in the entire system.

Besides, new modules such as issue of online transport permits from manufacture to wholesaler and from wholesaler to retailers, online production and tracking module for all manufacturing units and online enforcement module to track violations and repeat offences were also launched by the department.

Excise department has also launched its website, https://goaexcise.gov.in, with all the information required. An Android based mobile app has also been introduced.
