Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Feb 15: A woman employee, who has been working with a leading bank at Koramangala in city, has accused the bank’s 10 staff members and manager of allegedly sexually and mentally harassing her.

The complainant is a business development executive aged 32.

She has stated in the complaint that the alleged harassment continued for one year.

She has been working in the Koramangala branch for last nine years, but since May last year she has been facing harassment, the complaint mentions.

The complaint also stated that despite informing the authorities, including the zonal human resource department head and CEO, her pleas went unheard.

The complainant has alleged that her manager would make her stay late, while others would leave. She was touched by men staff members inappropriately at times. Women gossiped about her while men passed lewd comments, she said in complaint.

Koramangala police have registered a case.

CCTV should be installed inside the Bank as this prevent sexual harassment at workplace. Accused should be punished and removed from the job.

If a lady complains about one or two of her colleagues harassing her, one can agree with such possibility. But when ten people are harassing her and not even ladies support (they keep gossiping as per complaint), there is also a possibility of some problem with the lady herself. Many a times, when pulled up for inefficient work, or unwilling to work hard, ladies have a habit of retaliating by such complaints. So there is no need to blindly accept the complaint. However if the investigation proves her right then all colleagues need to be penalised.
