Mangaluru, Feb 15: RJ Rashmi Ullal inaugurated International Childhood Cancer Day at KMC Hospital, Attavar on Friday, February 15, organised by department of Pediatrics.
Addressing the gathering R J Rashmi Ullal said, "I have seen cancer patients very closely. I want to tell three things to them. The first one is that your mind should be strong. Some have physical problems, but mind has to be strong in that situation to deal with it. Second, trust and believe yourself which will have great impact in your life. And the third is having patience which will help you to go forward.”
Dr Harsha Prasad, chief, division of Pediatrics, welcomed the gathering and said, "No one likes to hear the word ‘cancer’. When a child suffers from cancer, it is very difficult time for the parents as well as the patient. Trauma, birth defect and cancer are the root causes for death of children. There is lack of awareness about cancer. Many think that it is not curable and spreads easily. These thoughts have to be cleared from the minds of people.”
Medical superintendent of KMC Dr Anand Venugopal and Dr Nuthan were present.
