Bellevision Bahrain installs executive committee led by Arun Fernandes as president

Media Release

Bahrain, Feb 4: The installation of the 2019 executive committee was held at the Papillon Restaurant banquet hall on January 31. The event was diligently organised in a manner that was vibrant, contagious and exuberant. It began with the registration of the members at the registration desk which was well managed by Hilda D’sa and Preethi Pinto.

The curtain raiser for the programme was conducted by the dashing and vivacious Ivan D’Souza. This was followed by a prayer dance by Nikitha, Erina, Jennifer and Alisha. The bright and graceful youngsters, with their elegant performance, exhibited that dance is a communication between body and soul, to express that which is too deep to find words for.

The new committee members came to the stage to enact a short but evocative skit which emphasised that they are all blessed with talents and it takes a supportive and interactive community, just like Bellevision Bahrain, to recognise and channelise it under the guidance and encouragement of a dynamic leader.

This was followed by the formal installation of the new executive committee of Bellevision Bahrain for the year 2019 by Joel D’Sa:

President: Arun Fernandes

Vice-president: Rony Pinto

General secretary: Nirmala Fernandes

Assistant general secretary: Vincent Martis

Treasurer: Veera Noronha

Entertainment secretary: Preetham Aranha

Sports secretary: Naveen Mendonca

Membership and web coordinator: Niloufer Quadros

To mark the new and auspicious beginning, a delicious cake by Naveen Mendonca was cut by the executive committee.

In his presidential speech, the new president requested the support and cooperation from all its members and citing the words of Henry Ford pointed out that focusing on finding remedies rather than faults goes a long way in determining the success of any association.

Bellevision Bahrain proudly felicitated Dr Calvin, son of members Victor and Anitha Almeida, who achieved his MBBS degree with flying colours. Newlywed Shawn and Pearl Machado were congratulated and wished a blissful married life.

The evening had a myriad of events to offer under the anchorage of the magnificent duo, Ivan D’Souza and Nirmala Fernandes. The dance performance by Alan, Anora, Ethan, Iral, Reeva and Simone, who danced to the tune of Boney M, was pure entertainment. Bellevision vocalists, Ivan Sequeira and Preetham Aranha, through their melodious songs, demonstrated their mastery over voice modulation, pitch, rhythm and tone and kept the audience mesmerised.

The endearing dance by the very talented Ries and Reeve left the crowd wanting for more. The adorable little Alec’s performance pulled the heartstrings of the audience. The other highlights of the evening were various games including housie-housie, colouring competition for kids and other spot games, which kept the audience entertained and lucky winners walked away with fabulous prizes.

Nikitha Fernandes along with the other kids offered the grace before meals and all proceeded for a sumptuous dinner.

The vote of thanks was rendered by assistant general secretary Vincent Martis who expressed his wholehearted gratitude to all the members and sponsors for their constant support.

The evening was filled with melodious music by DJ Alwyn. The unforgettable moments were captured by Mario Fernandes. It was indeed a remarkable evening, which once again showed unity of its members, which has always been the very pillar for the success of Bellevision Bahrain, as all look forward to another splendid and fruitful year.
