Rahul raking up Rafale because Michel spilling beans on AgustaWestland: BJP

Panaji, Jan 19 (IANS): The Congress is raking the Rafale issue because arrested middleman in the AgustaWestand deal Christen Michel is spilling the beans on the VVIP chopper scam, BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said on Saturday.

Hussain, at a press conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state headquarters here, also questioned Congress President Rahul Gandhi's repeated raking up of the Rafale deal despite the fact that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley explained the nuances of the fighter jet deal for hours in Parliament.

"To distract people from the issue (VVIP chopper scam), they are raking the issue of Rafale. They even made a doctored tape in Goa. They know Congress is a party of frauds. They only make fake allegations," he said.

The national spokesperson said the Congress had to face a setback on the Rafale deal often, and that its leaders kept lying over and over again to keep the facade going.

"Congress kept lying on it. Congress thinks it is above the Supreme Court and the Parliament," he said.

The BJP linking Congress with Christian Michel, on the basis of an “expelled lawyer” is a case of the “pot calling the kettle black”.
PM Modi and BJP must explain why blacklisted Augusta Westland was allowed to bid for Navy deal? CBI probe into Modi’s role in “exonerating” the Italian defense and aerospace major which was blacklisted by the Congress-led UPA government.

    1. Will the CBI investigate the BJP Agusta nexus of quid-pro-quo of accommodating, welcoming Agusta into India by including them into the Make-in-India programme?
    2. By welcoming them to bid for the Navy Helicopter?
    3. By overruling the earlier Government judgment to adjust them?
    4. Will the CBI investigate – No, they will not investigate because CBI is behaving like a remote-controlled hawk of the Narendra Modi Government, because CBI had become the Comfort Bureau of Investigation of BJP.
    5. Why for the past 4-1/2 years, CBI has not investigated the angle of BJP aggressively promoting Agusta and Finmeccanica despite their being into the radar of suspicion? But, no answer, because in BJP, they only know how to put meaningless allegations but they do not have the courage to face the questions of the Press on Agusta".
    was the UPA Government which filed an FIR in the case in February 2013 and ordered a CBI inquiry;
It was the then Defence Minister A.K. Antony, who in Parliament offered a Joint Parliamentary Committee to inquire into the case, which was spurned by the BJP.
It was the UPA Government which canceled the contract for the supply of 12 helicopters for VVIPs in January 2014. It was the UPA Government which confiscated the bank guarantee of Rs 240 Crore in Indian bank accounts. It was the UPA Government which moved an international court of arbitration, won the case and recovered 228 million Euros or 2068 Crore INR. It was the UPA Government which also confiscated the three helicopters supplied till then.
Why is BJP which worship 'Bharat Mata' shying away from a JPC on the Rafale deal?

Such silly response from a party whose Govt is in power at the centre borders more on stupidity. What the people want to know is the Truth and nothing but the Truth whether it is Rafale or Auguta Westland Scams.

File CBI cases in both the deals, JPC in both these alleged scams and remove the gag on the CAG. The court proceedings should be telecast in both these judicial proceedings.

Its been nearly two months since Michel is arrested but we see no beans that he spilled. Why BJP is shying away from informing the citizens about what he has revealed ?

BJP brought Michel in exchange of a royal member of UAE so that they will apply super glue to RG's lips. But no, RG is not going to shut his mouth because there is nothing with Michel that harms him or his mother.

Common BJP ??? Come out with whatever you have elicited out of the British Man, or let him go as you did with the Italian Marines. Don't incur revenue to the taxpayers.
