Bengaluru, Jan 9: In the interest of saving the jitters ahead of the forthcoming legislature session in Karnataka and the ensuing Lok Sabha polls in April-May, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday appointed three Congress legislators as heads of three boards and corporations.

With this, the Congress nominees have been appointed for 17 boards and corporations and the brewing crisis in the JD(S)-Congress coalition arrangement has been temporarily solved.

However, the Chief Minister is yet to clear names of three leaders recommended by the All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi.

While Shantinagar MLA has been appointed as chairman of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), Yeshwanthpur MLA S T Somashekar has been appointed as chairman of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).

Bagepalli MLA S N Subba Reddy has been appointed as the Chairman of the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation.

Kumaraswamy has not yet cleared the names of Chikballapur MLA Dr K Sudhkar, Doddaballapur MLA T Venkatarmaiah and Hubballi Dharwad (West) MLA Abbayya Prasad.

The Congress party had recommended Dr Sudhakar for the post of the Chairman of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board while Venkatarmaiah for Karnataka State Road Development Corporation.

Abbayya Prasad’s name was recommended for the post Lidkar Chairman.
