Mangaluru, Jan 7: “Children should not forget the sacrifice by their parents for children’s education and future. Children should develop a culture of respect and love for their parents while becoming excellent achievers in society. The mentality should grow among children when they are young,” said entrepreneur and Canara Engineering College convener M Padmanabha Pai.

He was chief guest at the anniversary programme of Canara Junior Primary School recently.

Old school student of Canara Engineering College placement officer Prashanth Kumar A spoke on importance of Kannada medium instruction and the necessity to learn in mother tongue. Priya Padmanabha Pai distributed prizes to the students. School management committee’s M Vaman Kamath, K Suresh Kamath, school convener Basti Purushotham Shenoy, school headmistress Mohini were present.

Assistant teacher Sandhya Kamath compered the programme. Vinay S welcomed the gathering. Sujatha P proposed the vote of thanks. A cultural programme by the students was held at the end.
