Bengaluru: Crack in pillar of 'Namma Metro' causes concern

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Dec 13: The dream of the city, 'Namma Metro' started eight years ago. Now a crack in one of the pillars has caused anxiety to the public travelling by the same.

The crack has appeared in the 155th pillar near Trinity station on Baiyappanahalli - Nayandahalli route. Also the slider or the concrete slab on the top of the pillar is also slid a bit. So the traffic of one side is stopped and trains are moving only on one track.

The metro staff, who had come to clear a honeycomb that was built near the pillar saw this damage. The metro officials have given the clarification that iron splider is put at that point.

Thousands of people travel by metro everyday. In addition, countless vehicles also pass below the pillar. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) officials clarified that they have taken immediate corrective action to prevent any damage.

The engineers who built this bridge and the whole metro line should be taken to dubai and shown the metro bridges and tracks.

It is close to 10 years of metro starting in dubai and the stations, trains, track and the bridges still look as if they are opened just a week ago!

The amount of corruption and non-maintenance that goes in our country is the cause of such poor workmanship.
