Muscat, Dec 10: In a shocking incident, a young accountant working in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, was found dead in his room on Sunday, December 9.

Guruprasad Upadhya who completed 27 years on September 22 is the deceased.

Guru, as he was fondly known by his friends and colleagues, hails from Udupi, and a student of St Mary's College, Shirva and Milagres Junior College, Kallianpur. He is said to have completed his schooling from the Poorna Prajna College, Udupi.

Cause of his death is said to be cardiac arrest. As per the information received, Guru had previous incidents of seizures, probably due to epileptic conditions. However, he was perfectly fit and worked on Saturday until evening and went to rest as usual.

Dilip Correa, who had employed him as an accountant for the past couple of years informed that he called him after he did not report to the office as per the office schedule and did not receive any answer. Upon inquiring, it was understood that Guru had gone to sleep in his room as usual, but did not open the door. Upon reaching his accommodation, it was found that the door was locked from inside and the door had to be broken open, where Guru was found motionless on his bed. Paramedics who arrived at the venue pronounced him dead.

Guru's friends and colleagues have expressed shock at this sudden tragic incident. Rupert D'Mello, who works in Dubai for one of Guru's vendors, informed  that he received a routine email from Guru on Saturday evening after 6:30pm with the regular updates of a project that was under way. He also said that Guru was a very friendly, jovial and intelligent person.

Arrangements for the repatriation of his body are under way and this is most likely to take place tomorrow. More details are awaited.

    Prabhu, Karkala,
Your comment makes no sense at this time. I fully agree with Nc, Mangalore's comment. Prabhu, please don't discourage anyone who is working abroad as that person is working for a better future.

Here is the actual role of MP comes. He/She can mount pressure on concerned central department to liaise with the embassy and do the formalities ASAP.

In Kerala these things works so quick.

We really have to think before voting to those people they ask vote in the name of Our religion and Temples but alt last.............. we will neither get temple or any other benefits from them or at least a help in such times.
