Chitradurga: DySP enters wedlock at mass marriage programme

Chitradurga, Dec 6: The mass marriage programme organized at Murugha Math here on Wednesday December 5 witnessed a unique event. A deputy superintendent of police (DySP), laying emphasis on the need to maintain simplicity in life, married the man of her choice on this occasion.

Priyadarshini, who has been working as probationary DySP at Belagavi, married Dr Santhosh, professor in horticultural college here, on Wednesday.

Priyadarshini Sanikoppa happens to be the elder daughter of Ishwar Sanikoppa, who was a corporator of Dharwad City Corporation. Ishwar Sanikoppa family, which follows the principles preached by Basavanna, have cordial relationship with Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru, head of Murugha Math here. When Ishwar Sanikoppa mentioned to Sharanaru about his daughter's marriage, head of Murugha Math suggested to him to conduct marriage at the mass marriage programme. Accordingly, Ishwar agreed to the suggestion, and Priyadarshini and Dr Santhosh couple became man and wife in the presence of Murugha Sharanaru.
