Bengaluru, Dec 3: An Ola cab driver was abducted, robbed, assaulted and his wife was made to strip over a video call by a gang of four in Bengaluru on November 30.

The Ola driver received a pick-up request near Adugodi at around 10.20 pm on Friday. The four passengers had selected Dommasandra, which is 22 kilometers away from Adugodi as their drop point.

The passengers after reaching Dommasandra asked the cabbie to drop them at an isolated spot, where they attacked the driver and made him sit in the backseat. They then drove the cab to a burial ground in Ramanagara and assaulted the cabbie for money. They forced him to reveal his pin and withdrew Rs 9000 from an ATM. The kidnappers then made the cabbie call his brother-in-law and forced him to ask Rs 20,000 via Paytm which was later transferred by them to another bank account.

The assailants then drove the cabbie to another location. Here, they forced him to call his wife and forced her to strip on video. When the lady refused, they hit her husband and hence blackmailed her to strip. They took screenshots of the act.

Finally, the cabbie was taken to a lodge in Channapattna. The miscreants had taken all his money and phone. The cabbie requested to use a washroom and escaped from the window. He managed to reach Bengaluru by asking lifts from other vehicles and he filed a complaint with Adugodi police on December 1.

The Adugodi police have managed to gain the CCTV footage from the Channapatna lodge, where the cabbie was taken.
A case of kidnap, robbery, blackmail, assault and outraging modesty of woman has been registered against the four.
