Mangaluru: RCH official Dr Ashok terminated from post for alleged torture of female staff

Mangaluru, Dec 3: The state government has ordered the termination of Dr Ashok H, an RCH official attached to district health and family welfare department for abusing and threatening his female staff.

Addressing a press meet here on Sunday, December 2, state chief convener of Dalitha Horata Sangarsha Samithi Mavali Shankar said, "Based on the complaint lodged by Dalitha Horata Sagarsha Samithi and an internal enquiry, the state government has passed an order to terminate the RCH official from his post."

Dr Ashok

Ashok has been accused of continuously abusing and threatening the female staff.

"Dalitha Horata Sangarsha Samithi has frequently fought for the justice and had registered a complaint against Dr Ashok H with deputy commissioner, top officials of all the departments and the concerned minister," he added.

He further said, "Even the women staff had registered a complaint against Dr Ashok H with president of district internal enquiry committee. Following the complaint, an enquiry was carried out on July 31 and Dr Ashok H was found guilty. The enquiry committee later submitted a report to the deputy commissioner. Hence the DC ordered the District Health and Family Welfare Department to take stern action against the official," he added.
