Mangaluru: St Aloysius College excels in powerlifting, karate

Mangaluru, Nov 28: Venizia Annie Carlo, I BCom secured two gold medals in the sub-junior equipped and unequipped National Benchpress Championship which was held in Pune from November 14 to 19 and selected for the Commonwealth Benchpress Championship which will be held in Canada.

Venezeia Carlo, represented India in Asian Bench Press Powerlifting Championship 2018 held at Dubai from September 16 to 24 and secured gold medal in sub junior unequipped benchpress, silver medal in equipped benchpress Power Lifting Championship 2018 under 57 kg sub junior category.

She also secured II place in the 63 kg weight class at the sub junior boys and girls National Powerlifting Championship 2018 held at GMRIT College, Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh from June 21 to 25.



Rachael Flora Noronha, I BCom. secured two silver medals in the sub-junior Equipped and Unequipped National Benchpress Championship which was held in Pune from November 14 to 19 and selected for the Commonwealth Benchpress Championship which will be held in Canada.

Israr Pasha, II BBA represented India in Asian Bench Press Power Lifting Championship 2018 held at Dubai from September 16 to 24. He secured two silver medals in equipped and unequipped Benchpress Power lifting Championship 2018 in junior under 120 kg category. He won the bronze medal in senior state level Powerlifting Championship – 2018 held at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru from July 6 to 8. Total weight lifted in three different events- 600 kg.

Likhitha J, II BSc won a gold medal in state level Kumite and two bronze medals in individual Kata and group Kata respectively in Karate Black Belt Category. This state level Karate competition was organised by Sri Durgaparameshwari Kala Mandira, Kerpala, Sullia on November 24 and 25.
