Mangaluru: St Theresa’s School celebrates buoyant Annual Day

Mangaluru, Nov 24: St Theresa’s School hosted its Annual Day with great exuberance on November 23 on the theme ‘Orenda- The Power to Heal’.

Chief guest Philomina Lobo, the director of Public Instruction, secondary education, Bengaluru graced the function and delivered an inspiring message on unique talents of students and teachers role in guiding the children in the right path.
Fr Vincent Monteiro, the parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Bendur bestowed the guest of honour. Sr Lillis BS, vice president, Bethany Educational Society presided over the function and highlighted the virtues of St Therese and asked the students to follow the right path through right education.



Sr Mariette BS, correspondent of the school welcomed the chief guest and the other dignitaries. Sr Philomene Saldanha, principal presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the school and the students. The function was marked by the vote of thanks to the guest and the parents by Sr Shanthi, the vice principal.

The programme was anchored by Craig, Simran, Haleema and Himanshu. It began with invoking God’s blessings by the students of Std 6. The school choir enthralled the audience with melodious music. The gathering was welcomed by a mesmerising dance by the students of Std 8. The students of Std 7 dressed in colourful attire presented various cultural concepts. 'Naguve Chetana', a Kannada comedy skit was enacted by the students. A dance drama on the theme 'Power to Heal' was presented by the students of Std 9 and 10, delivering the message of healing the world.

The programme was centred on the theme 'Orenda – The Power to Heal' and it was expressed throughout the programme.

    Brilliant performances from the children. Sad that heavy rains interrupted them towards the end, nevertheless the efforts taken have been grâced with showers of blessings... Best wishes for future academic years. Theresians , you are doing good job in every school competitions, keep it up .

    Beautiful, very creative and splendid program.
    Really enjoyed the children's performance. Best wishes to all teachers and management staff who worked back stage for this event to become grand success.
