Kuwait Pangla Association celebrates silver jubilee with ‘Musical Fiesta’

Kuwait, Nov 24: Kuwait Pangla Association, the oldest parish based association in Kuwait, led by president Naveen Monis, organized ‘Musical Fiesta’, a musical symphony by ‘O..La..Re…’, a team from Mangaluru at Sabha Al Salem Theatre, Kuwait University on Friday, November 23.

After the national anthem of Kuwait and India, the program started with introduction by Kuwait's popular multilingual MC Jaison Lasrado followed by welcome dance by Nritta Dhyana. The traditional lamp was lit by president Naveen Monis, vice-president Roshan Martis, secretary Maxim Arun Nornha, treasurer Manoj Rego, cultural secretary Mario Carnelio, chief guest Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves followed by welcome speech of president. A cake was cut to mark the silver jubilee. A souvenir was also released to mark the event. 

 







































Fr Ferdinand (Pangla parish priest), Fredrick Quadras (longest serving - 1998-2004 & 2006-2008), Lancy Rodrigues and all the ex-presidents of KPA present (Maurice Dmello, Fredrick Quadras, Maxim Arun Noronha, Stephen D'costa, Jerald Quadras, Ignatius Quadras, Rashmi Dmello, Roshan Quadras) were honored during the event. Lancy Rodrigues was conferred with "Gulf Konkan Kala Samrat " title for his contribution to Konkani language and culture through writing, acting, directing, singing etc. Fr Noel, Fr Edwin Pinto, Fr Arthur Pereira and Fr Blany Pinto were present for the program.

Team ‘O..La..Re…’ gave a unique experience to the Kuwait audience with its innovative music, mesmerizing multilingual fusion and mashups. Shilpa Cutinha, Stephen Cutinha, Meera Crasta, Adolf Jayathilak, Orson D'Souza, Robin Sequeira and Shelton Rainer Pinto rocked the stage with the choicest selection of energetic Konkani, Hindi, English songs. In between songs, rib tickling jokes were performed by Jaison Lasrado, Lancy Rodrigues, Steven Machado, Lucy Lobo Aranha, Rajesh Fernandes and Anil Menezes. The audience thoroughly enjoyed foot tapping dance by Jhankar Academy, Dilllusions Academy of Dance, Konkan Girls group and Fusion Dance Academy.

Orson Albert D'Souza's debut album "Mi Amor" was released during the event by Rita Rodrigues and Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves. The CD consists of songs by Vinay John Lewis, Gladys Lorena, Morvine Quadras, Joshal Sweeda D'souza, Joyline John Kiran Gonsalves, Robin John Paul Sequeira, Shilpa Cutinha, Dilraj Don Rodrigues, Jacqueline Ballerina Fernandes, Stephen Cutinha, Meera Florence, Carol Sequeira and Karen Crasta. Music is composed and arranged by Roshan Dsouza Angelore. Lyrics are written by Lloyd Rego, Wilson Kateel and Sanjay Borkar.

Visiting artistes, local artists, choreographers and sponsors were honored with flower bouquets and mementos. General secretary Maxim Arun Noronha delivered vote of thanks.

The programme was well compered by Jaison Lasrado, Priya Cardoza and Shilpa Cutinha. Music was provided by Roshan Dsouza, Sanjeeth Rodrigues, Sanjay Rodrigues, Kenny Pereira, Kiran Sunny, Arthur Lobo and Joy Fernandes. Sound and lighting was by Waves Event Management/Anand. The well arranged programme came to an end with Baila session. Raffle draw (KPA and Malabar), Odel - WhatsApp question lucky winners were conducted to keep audience lively.
The houseful crowd enjoyed the event thoroughly. The combination of sound, light, songs and music took the event to a different level with Roshan D'souza's innovative experiments. Symphony by ‘O..La..Re…’ was one of the best Konkani event, Kuwait has witnessed.
