Mangaluru: Children’s Day celebrated at Bertrand School

Mangaluru, Nov 19: On the occasion of children’s day celebration programme was being held at Bertrand Russell English medium high school on November 15.

The function began by invoking the blessings of god through a prayer song by teaching staff, later continued by the members of Chirantana Old Aged Home. On behalf of all the children’s of the school, SPL Aman and ASPL Namrutha lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function.

The special guests were the senior members of Chirantan Old Aged Home and also the grandparents of children of the school. Padha pooja was performed by the students for the senior members and grandparents. The SPL, ASPL and grandchildren performed the Padha Pooja by cleansing the feet with water, applying turmeric and kumkum, next by putting the Akshathe and flowers on it. At the end of the Padha Pooja Grandchildren’s performed the arathi and took the blessings from them.



Different cultural programmes were organised. The teachers, parents and students of the school exhibited their talents through a variety of programmes. Correspondent Nisha lakshman, principal Vatsala, administrative officer Geetha, teaching, non-teaching staff and students were all present on this occasion. The programme concluded with lunch served to members of the Chirantana Old Age Home.
