Puttur: St Philomena PU College athletic team bags overall runners up title

Puttur, Nov 14: The athletic team of St Philomena PU College exhibited its sportive spirit at the district level athletic championship held at Moodbidri.

The boys athletic team bagged the runners up while both boys and girls team bagged the overall runners up title with three gold, two silver and six bronze medals.

Preetham Rai (II PCMC) bagged the individual championship and raised the flag of victory.

Along with Preetham Rai, Bhavith Kumar (II HEPS) and Raksha Anchan (I PCMB) are selected for the state level athletic meet which will be held at Mysuru on November 24 and 25.

Fr Vijay Lobo, principal, congratulated the following winners.

  • Preetham Rai of II PCMC bagged two gold and one silver in long jump, triple jump, 4x100 metre relay
  • Bhavith Kumar of II HEPS bagged one gold and one bronze in polo walt and high jump
  • Raksha Anchana of I PCMB-D secured one silver in 3 km walk
  • Vineeth G R of I PCMB-B secured two bronze in disc throw and hammer throw
  • Mohammad Unaiz of II ECBA secured one bronze and one silver in 100 metre and 4x100 metre relay
  • Harshitha A bagged one bronze in 1500 metre
  • Neha of I PCMB secured one bronze in 4x100 metre relay
  • Elson Pereira of II ECBA secured one silver in 4x100 metre relay
  • Rickson Martis of II SCBA secured one silver in 4x100 metre relay
