Mangaluru Nov 13: Centre for Development Studies and Education (CEDSE), a registered charitable trust, will launch its website on Care Child Cancer in a ceremony at School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya on November 14.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, November 13, director of CEDSE Dr Rita Noronha said, “District in-charge minister U T Khader will preside over the function, former MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D Souza, deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, zilla panchayath CEO Dr Selvamani, MCC commissioner Mohammed Nazir, police commissioner T R Suresh, principal of School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Dr Juliet C J and superintendent of Wenlock hospital Dr Rajeshwari Devi will be the chief guests.
“CEDSE has been running care child cancer programme since five years with the motto ‘Let child live not cancer’. It aims at saving precious lives of children from cancer - a disease which places children in situation of pain and deprivation of all things that a joyful childhood implies and brings much turmoil inclusive of financial burden to their families.
"We have signed an MOU with three major hospitals in government Wenlock hospital, KMC and Fr Muller Hospital to reach out the effected children. As many as 102 children and their care givers have been provided financial support and an equal number are provided with counselling and emotional support to withstand the situation of crisis. Through this website we want to expand the vision of people besides the service provided and want to take forward the wellness of the children,” said Dr Rita Noronha.
Chief coordinator CEDSE Herald Moras, Dr Baliga and Dr Harsha Prasad were present.
