‘Fr Kuriakose was certain about his death if Bishop Franco got bail’

Daijiworld Media Network

Jalandhar, Oct 24: Fr Kuriakose Kattuthara had received threats several times and was even attacked once after he testified against Bishop Franco Mulakkal, reveal brother and sister-in-law of the priest who was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Monday.

The kin of the priest told media that they suspect foul-play. “In his last call with us, he had told that his death is certain if Bishop Franco gets bail and had asked us to pray for him. The Bishop had earlier visited my brother’s parish and had spoken ill about him with the parishioners,” alleged Jose Kattuthara, brother of Fr Kuriakose.

Jose demanded that Fr Kuriakose’s autopsy has to be done in Alappuzha as he has no faith in Jalandhar police, who may make his death seem as natural. However, Jose is certain that Fr Kuriakose’s death is a result of his testimony against Bishop Franco.

Jose and his wife Elsamma have denied that Fr Kuriakose suffered from heart disease. “He had BP and was diabetic but did not suffer major health problems,” they told media.

Elsamma added that in spite of several priests being eligible to become Bishop, Franco used his power to get to the post.

The 62-year old priest returned to his residence after offering Sunday Mass and went to bed without eating dinner, the parish helper told the police.

The church has issued a press release stating that when nuns of St. Paul’s convent in Dasuya found Fr Kuriakose not responding to their knocks, they informed church authorities. “Fr Kuriakose was found lying down with vomit from the mouth. Immediately he was taken to the Civil Hospital and they declared him brought death,” stated the press note.

It is not fair to cast asperations on anyone and high time we have faith in the Police even if it is from Jallandar or Kerala or the system will collapse if we suspect every issue.

The death of Fr Kuriakose is death under mysterious circumstances. It can be murder or suicide. The police have found the tables at his bed where he has vomited blood, before his death. Only the autopsy can reveal the true nature of his death. Better to conduct more than one autopsy, so that doubt can be cleared.

If Fr Kuriakose is guilty of giving wrong witness, then, his death may have occurred by himself. But if he has given witness, based on the truth, then, it might be murder. Day by day, this incident has turned to be disgusting.

Better to remove, at least now , some of the stinking garbage rather allow it to be stink more and spread the filthy smell. Only the person, who lives on truth, can clean this type of mess.

“In his last call with us, he had told that his death is certain if Bishop Franco gets bail and had asked us to pray for him"
In spite of that the family members did not lodge a complaint with police and waited patiently for the prayers do a miracle and save his life.
If at all, they had registered FIR and requested for police protection, some security arrangements could have been done. Too late.
What about other witnesses? Rape incident and chain of events following that.
    Mysterious indeed.

For the people from the "protesters' own country" religion is always secondary.

Politics and power is always primary.

So, the religious vows hardly matter among people in that part of the world.

Kuriakose lost the opportunity to be the bishop - at the last metre in the race.
The nun lost elections to be the Superior General - after bing in that position for six years.

Kuriakose and the nun have fighting to regain their lost glory - by CROOK or by CROOK.

I’m sure you will continue adoring the bishop even after he is convicted. I understand how difficult it is for a faithful believer to accept a holy man as a criminal. Time and again he had used all in his power to influence the police and the judiciary. He had even won the politicians to his side. One MLA has even gone to the extent of calling the nun a prostitute. So the holy man too is leaving no stone unturned to get out of the clutches of law either by hook or crook.

Bishop, Priest and Nun; all are ordained.
All have taken up the oath to love, serve God and love thy neighbor as thy self.
All have taken up the oath to renounce worldly life on their own without anybody's pressure, fear or favor.
May truth prevail on this earth also. Truth shall definitely prevail in heaven as everybody have to pass through judgement on the last day. It will be terrible for the deceivers!
Those believe in this truth, whose Focus is on heaven while journeying in this temporary world, will only be able to resist all Evils of the Devil and save themselves from ever lasting death!

@John mangalore, let us be fair .we shouldnt ask why Nuns knocked the door of Priest etc. They must have knocked the door because usually nuns go in and out where a church is and after mass he was not to be seen.quite possible he had gone to sleep without having the breakfast.must have heard noice of vomitting. Now come to the matter ,all are now saying AD.bishop (Now nomore bishop)and his family was the cause of mord or death of this present. As for me it is not. Most probably since he had diabetic ,and blood pressure ,he had gone to bed without breakfast, and BP must have caused some artery inside burst and causeed vomitting blood or even liver case can also cause vomitting blood when some artery burst.so please let us wait for the post martum report, before nailing Bishop and his family for his death.RIP.Iam not saying he is innocent to be clear.(Franco)Unclear that he was still unconcious, means he had certainly low Hypoglycaemia.but in hospital said brought dead. This doesnt tally.Everything is so confusing.so let us wait for the report.

THE WORST PART IS HIS OWN COMMUNITY PEOPLE ARE AGAINST HIM AS HE WENT TO PUBLIC AND EXPOSED THE BISHOP....

GIVING LECTURES VERY EASY ON OTHERS AND FOLLOWING THE SAME IS DIFFICULT......

THE COURT MUST LOOK INTO IT AND SHOULD CANCEL THE BAIL OF BISHOP AS HE IS A THREAT TO THE NUNS....

This man was second-in-charge at the Jalandhar diocese, and was very hopeful of becoming the bishop there when the incumbent vacated position.

But when the incumbent vacated the position, Kuriakose was bypassed.

Bypassing a second-in-charge (to take on the lead role) happens all the time, not only in the Catholic church, but also in the corporate world. It is only in the nationalised banks does a peon automatically become a bank clerk by hanging in there long enough.

Kuriakose and his family members became very bitter, it appears. Hence so much venom against Franco Mulakkal - who was selected to be the bishop.

Franco Mulakkal has displayed exemplary qualities - befitting his role as Bishop.

Kuriakose must have worked very hard to get Franco jailed - with the hope of becoming the bishop. When that did not happen, well, off he went.

Feel sorry for the creative nuns in Kuriakose' camp.
